An updated Model 55 rifle, introduced in 1933.
Numbered along with Model 1894s, the Model 64 was first discontinued in 1957; about 66,783 were made in the original version. This model was reintroduced in 1972 with the designation of Model 64A, and was chambered in .30-30 only. It was discontinued one year later, in 1973, following a production run of only 8,251 units. Although the stocks for the early original Model 64 and the later Model 64A are very similar in appearance, they are not interchangeable.
