Successor to the Model 64, this is a revamped Model 53, introduced in 1933.
Design changes to the Model 53 are similar to those made for the Model 64. The Winchester Model 65 was first chambered in .25-20 and .32-20 calibers, with the addition of .218 Bee in 1939. Manufacture of the Model 65 was discontinued in 1947; about 5,704 were made.
