Marlin's 1896 successor to the Model 1891, eliminating the lever-operated trigger safety device.

Also available in .22 and .32 caliber; round, octagon, and half-octagon special order barrels were available for the 1892. Hard rubber buttplate was standard; crescent style stock and buttplate (as well as pistol grip style stock) could be special ordered.
